![]() ![]() My position as secretary keeps me busy on campus and despite the school being located right outside of NYC, I'm typically able to study without distractions. I'm also reminded of the workload and standard that we are all held to because of our commitment as student leaders. It's been an honor to serve and be a part of the team. Niche User: after one year of commuting to class, I joined SGA to represent the class of 2022 as their secretary. Giving the student body a sense of representation and providing a diverse curriculum, showcases the program’s interest in their academic success. The diverse faculty in the psychology department attracts my desire to be a part of this program because it encourages the success of students that come from disadvantaged backgrounds. Networking is a critical component of research because it allows students like myself to take prerequisite knowledge and put it into practice. ![]() Being an academic scholar in the classroom only displays a subset of my competence and understanding therefore, knowing how to conduct extensive research is important. The training given by William Paterson’s psychology department will help me gain experience for future endeavors such as presentations and publications. Master's Student: William Paterson’s MA program in Clinical and Counseling Psychology prepares individuals that want to be mental health care providers with the skills to prosper in the field. Another great aspect about this program is that you are given the opportunity to take dental school and/or medical school courses which really allows you to challenge yourself and see if you're capable of handling the rigor of dental or medical school. Being able to be taught by these professors is inspiring and allowed me to absorb the information well. The courses are taught well by interesting and amazing professors who have done impressive work in their field. There are a variety of courses to choose from, as well as specific concentrations to focus on. The faculty are knowledgable, approachable, and supportive. I was earning my masters in hopes to become a more competitive applicant when I applied to dental school and I believe completing my masters at Rutgers helped me achieve this, tremendously. Alum: I attended the Master's of Biomedical Sciences program here and I feel that the program was challenging, organized, and aligned me for success. ![]()
